Anand Arya is an alumnus of Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi and Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.
After taking early Retirement from the Corporate World as Managing Director, Arya has indulged in his twin Hobbies of Birding and Bird Photograhy.
For nearly 20 Years, Arya has been making serious and successful efforts towards saving Environment and in particular the Habitats of Birds. He has been instrumental in Saving Okhla Bird Sanctuary as also protecting Yamuna River and Environment against Pollutions particularly in the National Capital Region.
After having obtained Protection Orders from National Green Tribunal and Supreme Court, Arya is running a National Campaign to Save all the 757060 Wetlands across Country and due to his efforts, Dhanauri Wetlands in Greater Noida has been ordered to be protected both as a Sarus Sanctuary and Ramsar Wetland.
As part of his Campaign to Save Wetlands, he has Premiered his Film “Dhanauri Wetlands as Ramsar Site & Sarus Sanctuary” which has won 6 International Awards at Film Festivals.
Arya’s has published a Monograph on Sarus Cranes and a number of Articles on Sarus Crane, Golden Oriole, Bristled Grassbird etc have been published in National and International Journals.
